God made him who had no sin to be sin for us. - 2 Corinthians 5:21

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:12-21

Throughout history, royal families have received special treatment. They were often exempt from keeping the law or receiving punishment or even discipline. But the royal children still needed to know that when they misbehaved, they deserved to be punished. When a prince or princess disobeyed or did poorly in schoolwork, the punishment was given to a "
whipping boy" instead. There was no doubt who was really at fault, but it was simply unthinkable for a servant to spank a person of royalty.

The cross of Calvary gives a completely different view of dealing with wrongdoing. Although the servant is at fault, royalty receives the punishment. Jesus Christ, the Prince of Glory, took our place when He died on the cross. He voluntarily became our "
whipping boy" and paid the penalty for our sins.

How much we owe the Jesus Christ! How could we ever forget that we have been bought with a price? That's what kept Paul going when lesser men might have quit. He was confident that because we have a substitute, God is not angry with us. His Majesty's justice has been satisfied. We are free to live and love as we never have before.

May that motivate us to tell others the good news!

Christ became a curse for us to remove the curse from us.

When Jesus took our punishment,
God's wrath was satisfied;
Now we can live at peace with Him.
Because for us Christ died.
