Group of friends attempt Pri 5 maths paper for fun, struggle to solve questions

Running out of ideas for the weekly game night with friends?

One group of young adults decided to give themselves the mother of all challenges – a Primary 5 maths exam.

In a TikTok video posted by a member of the group, Gladys Yuen, the group comes across stacks of exam papers at a book sale and decide to see how well they’d fare on the maths paper. You know, just for fun.

Pouring themselves a glass of red wine, they toasted to their “brain cells” and began the examination – without calculators, mind you, because rules are rules.

Question 1: Find the base of the triangle.
Seemed simple enough, until Gladys realised the answer she had wasn't even listed in the multiple choice.


 While the OP (Original Poster) initially seemed confident of herself when she understood the question, she realised that the answer she had in mind was not listed in any of the multiple choice options.

 As they moved to the fourth question, some of her friends could not solve the question.

Complains that question has too many words
As the OP and her friends continued with the paper, they got stuck on a question involving a character named Mr Loh.

Out of frustration, one of her friends even cursed at Mr Loh as she was struggling to solve the question.

It is not known whether this is really a Primary 5 question or if it came from Singapore, but more importantly, can you solve the question?

July 16 is the only possible answer
1) Albert: I don't know when Cheryl's birthday is, but l know that Bernard does not know too.
A knows B confirm don't know the date, which means A wasn't told May or June because May and June both have an unique identifier (5/19 and 6/18) ie. If B was told 19 or 18 the entire Condition 1 is wrong.

2) Bernard: At first I did not know when Cheryl's birthday is, but I know now.
We are left with July to August. B is now confident of his answer, so his Date must be unique, thus eliminating 7/14 and 8/14.

3) Albert: Then I also know when Cheryl's birthday is.
A says he now knows the answer, because July is the only unique (There are two August dates, left)
