It has long been assumed that snoring is a man's problem.
But a new study finds that women snore too and often do not own up to it. And even when they admit to snoring, they insist, incorrectly, that theirs is not as loud as men's.
Researchers studying nearly 2,000 patients found that nearly 40 per cent of women who declared themselves to be non-snorers turned out to have severe or very severe snoring intensity, according to the study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

"We found that although no difference in snoring intensity was found between genders, women tend to underreport the fact that they snore and to underestimate the loudness of their snoring", said study co-author Dr Nimrod Maimon.

What does the Bible say about sleep? For one, as the obvious time of rest during the night as we recover our energy to take on the next day. In this context, the Bible mentions trusting in God as an assurance of such peaceful resting. If we are troubled by worries preventing us from sleeping, we can cast our anxieties upon the love and sovereignty of God in the alleviation of such concerns. Additionally, sleeping relates to the occurrence of dreams that biblical figures would experience, usually receiving a message from God in a vision.
"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet." (Proverbs 3:24).
"I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me." (Psalm 3:5).
"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8).
"The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep." (Ecclesiastes 5:12).
"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23).
