Christiane Vleugels is a talented Traditional Artist from Belgium. Her giant Hyper realistic paintings seem to tell a story and invite you in for the experience. Christiane‘s interest in art began at a very young age and by the age of 12. Artist Herman Cornelis trained her skills in drawing and modelling. From age 17 she studied in academy of Fine Arts and learned drawing and sculpting at SISA and the Royal Academy of Antwerp.

She married in 1986 and moved to the city of Cologne (Germany) for six years, where she had two years continuous exhibitions in the well-known ' Gallerie des beaux arts '. Some work went abroad including Egypt and UK. Back in Belgium, many years followed with commissioned work including numerous reproductions. That explains her extreme skills nowadays, where she creates right from the heart.

Christiane Vleugels creates incredibly lifelike paintings of human figures and faces. The artist has mastered her techniques in order to produce these extremely realistic depictions of people. Her skilled use of light and shadow creates such detail that viewers may think they are looking at a photograph. Wonderful, stunning and simply beautiful paintings.

As the best steel is created through fire and force, so are the best artists. Christiane Vleugels was forced to make a living making reproductions of someone else’s work. Looking back now, she realized that it was these these tedious and uninspired paintings that helped her perfect her technique. According to her: “The sole purpose of my work is to tempt people to dream. There is nothing I love more than to move my audience to ecstasy by allowing them a peek into my fantasy.”

Upon closer inspection, viewers might notice the blended strokes of oil paint across canvas which are faintly present, although not easy to find amid the sharp contrast of fine and flowing hair or the distinct definition of a muscular back. The collection of hyperrealistic oil paintings are an endless journey into Vleugels’ imagination.

Having those ectreme skills and talent, still with each creation she realizes that the real learning process is only beginning, with new aspects revealing in every painting. Her paintings do not wear messages or political statements but just make you dream.

Christiane Vleugels is drawing since her early childhood, and doesn’t limit herself to some specific genres or techniques. Now, she prefers to paint hyper-realistic oil paintings.

The first Christiane Vleugels’ art education was received at the Academy of Arts in her hometown. Five years later, the young artist decided to move to a more advanced city, Antwerp, where she got a not very paying job as a decorator and artist in an advertising agency. Here, in Antwerp, Christiane improves her ability to paint with oil, studying it at the Royal Academy of Arts. The artist herself says that even those years that she spent doing low-paid copies of famous artists’ paintings, were spent not in vain. They gave her a valuable experience and allowed her to develop her own style.
