Now, Cara Nicole Neo has turned her passion into a business venture.
The 23-year-old English Literature major at the National University of Singapore transforms into Mermaid Syrena for children's parties and corporate events.
Rates vary based on the nature and scope of the event, but clients can expect to pay around $500 an hour to see her and her $5,000 silicone tail in action.
Although Miss Neo is undecided if this will become a full-time career, she has plans to expand her business to include a mermaid jewellery line.
