She stays with her uncle, but it becomes clear that he and his son are planning something sinister for her. The shooting script was titled Evil Heritage. It was changed to Satan's Slave prior to release and then changed back at a later date.

The original UK cinema version was heavily cut by the BBFC with edits to all stabbing scenes, the nude sacrifice, an eye gouging and shots of John's mutilated body. The 1997 Satanica video featured an alternate print which was pre-edited by the director to remove a scene where scissors are traced over a woman and restored many of the original cinema cuts, although the film was then cut by 1 minute 4 secs by the BBFC to edit a whipping scene and much of the bedroom assault. The 2004 Anchor Bay DVD restored all previous BBFC cuts.

The film did run into trouble, however, even though most of the nudity was only shown from the rear. The censor had relaxed. Film could at this point show the nipple and show SOME female frontal nudity. The eccentric exploitation films are certainly flawed and nowhere near as angry or socially-minded as his contemporary, but they have a charm all their own.

There is a totally new murder scene and lots more violence in the Satanic mass scenes. Basically every violent scene has newer alternative more gory takes: Martin Potter's eye gauging is notably much more graphic in the video. Unfortunately whereas the censors passed footage deemed too violent to submit to them in 1976, they cut 1 minute 4 seconds of footage that they were willing to pass for its orginal X rated cinema and video release.


There is a totally new murder scene and lots more violence in the Satanic mass scenes.

These cuts include most of Potter's sexual assault on his first girlfriend, and some whipping and branding in the flashback witchfinder sequence. Ironically the orginal UK cinema version was appearing with these cuts intact on cable TV around the same time as the cut video re-release.

When the torture is over, they will attach the wrists above together, on the same hook with straps around the waist and thighs press together. With a few candles burning to give her a hot bath as she continue screaming painfully. Understand that she will then be whipped by long bullwhip which wrap her body to clear the wax.
She went through hours of torturous situations where she is pushed beyond her limits, although she might not be willing to go all the way to the end of the painful sequence, all nude and shaved. She will be whipped, her neck chained, and then she must wait in that position for her next torture. The confessor decides the number of lashes the poor penitents are to receive.

It actually works in either the softer or hotter versions. The grue-- including a nude woman threatened with scissors, a head crushed in a door, a gory fall of a ledge, a woman slashed with a jagged piece of glass, and a nail driven into an eye-- is lively, but the central story about the traumatized heroine being cared for by her malevolent uncle and his murderous son is strong enough to stand on its own.

Putting an emphasis on the body in pain, throwing the background to the dark, a different style from what was done. The flogging scene will be at a museum, kept in their original state.
