From Our Daily Bread
My colleague’s friend has a card in his wallet that says: “Only good things come from God's hands. Every trial prepares us for eternity.” He shares that it reminds him of God’s goodness as he goes through challenges in life, which includes two job retrenchments and being diagnosed with cancer. His certain confidence lies not in the card but in the character of God, knowing that He is perfect and incapable of evil.
The trials and difficulties that God allow in our lives do not happen by chance or coincidence; God has a purpose in all of them. Our conviction is founded on Romans 8:28.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who’ve been called according to His purpose.”
Indeed, God is at work in all things—both the good and the bad. In all that may happen, He has but one objective in mind: for our good. May this truth comfort us in our times of difficulty.
Which of God’s promises do you cling on to when you encounter a trial? Can I encourage you to share your thoughts with us at our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RbcMinistriesSingapore) page or email us at singapore@rbc.org (mailto:singapore@rbc.org)?
