King Street in downtown Toronto and stretching to the city's west side was backed up for several kilometres, with commuters stuck on streetcars with nowhere to go.


Toronto flash flooding slows morning commute from Hamilton
Commuters heading from Hamilton to Toronto and back on the GO Train will likely need extra time to get to where they're going Tuesday, thanks to record shattering rains that drenched the city Monday night.

“Last evening's torrential rains have washed out sections of track across our rail system,” reads a statement on GO Transit's website.

On the Lakeshore West line, train service is running from Aldershot to Port Credit, but commuters will need to take a shuttle bus from Port Credit to Long Branch. Trains are then running from Longbranch to Union.

“The following train trip will run as scheduled then turn into a shuttle train once completed,” the statement reads.

There are no scheduled delays on Hamilton to Union Station GO Bus service, but Union sustained major flooding Monday night, so a little extra time would be well advised.
