RIHANNA Celebrates Kadooment Day In Barbados
What is Kadooment Day? Kadooment Day is a crop over day and the people of Barbados celebrate this day with great vigor and joy. It is a day when the people or the Bajans (as they are more properly known), undertake a total cut of their grown crop. Thus, this day, as according to their culture, is of importance and should be celebrated on a massive scale. Thus, the people of Barbados have a cultural as well as emotional attachment to the celebration of the Kadooment Day. Furthermore, the people celebrate this day with sheer enthusiasm and madness. They dance in the streets and sing their traditional folk songs.

One would think that Rihanna is difficult to surprise us. But her carnival outfit, leaving no room for imagination, surpassed all expectations. The country star has stirred the air and turned heads!

Kadooment, or “crop over” day is an island-wide tradition for the people of Barbados – first beginning in the month of June, and ending on the first day of August,  every year.  It is a celebration of culture and unity, which features a day-long festival filled with dancing, parades, and…madness!

Songstress, Rihanna took part in this year’s festivities, as she was pictured on the floats in full Kandooment garb – a traditional costume worn by most, if not all the women affiliated with the parade.  The Bajan beauty thoroughly enjoyed herself, not holding back in celebration – at all.
